Overall engine sound - XS 400 2A2

I am first time owner of a XS 400 2A2 and also first time owner of an air cooled 4-stroke bike. I have ridden a bit over 1500km now after getting it all properly running, it still sounds pretty much the same (I think).

I've had 0 issues so far and it starts/runs fine.

I am just still slightly concerned about the noisiness of the engine and I feel like I'm going insane because I believe that my ears over time filter out some of the noise and then I notice it again.

I forgot to add that it's fully stock.

It sounds pretty normal to me. You are probably hearing the valve rocker taps. As long as you have the valve clearances adjusted to within spec, ride it. I would be worried if I didn't hear any valve clattering!

Thank you, I got the bike for really good deal so I am a little paranoid.

It sounds the same as mine, a bit of a tick I think from the valves exactally the same as mine does.

I checked the clearances twice and it still sounds the same as yours...Id stop worrying if I was you
