So I gave in a couple weeks ago and took my bike in to the local shop to find out what was wrong with it. I had put some time into (see previous thread) but I really don't have a lot to spare.

After dropping it at the local shop (Daly City) and being warned that the mechs may not work on it since it is quite old they towed it for free to a shop in the city (San Francisco).

Turns out that the sonic clean I had done loosened everything up in the carbs but it just go jammed in the small parts. (I had started to figure this) BUT on top of that it turns ot that the PO had installed the wrong springs for the idle adjust screws, "look like they were from a mechanical pencil" he said, and the tip of one of them was broken. The shop had to spend a good while to find them since they are discontinued and apparently my bike has xs360 carbs on it. News to use I suppose.

Picked it up last thirsday and had an ear to ear grin 30 minute ride home.

HAPPY XS400D:thumbsup::bike:

I will get some pics and perhaps vids up soon
