some modded xs400's

Looks cool but also looks to be more of a race/show bike than a rider.

Absolutely. I always love the minimalist designs, but it's missing all the legally required stuff I would need around here.

Apparently it's one of the founders' personal rides. Knowing Edmonton cops, unless the owner is Aboriginal the worst he'd get is a ticket.

Saw this little beauty at the Lowbrow swapmeet

That is nice. I don't get the whole Knobby tires on bikes that aren't for off road....especially on cafe style bikes.....a good hard corner on pavement with knobby tires usually results in checking my shorts...

A lot of bikes are built for looks NOT performance as many don't see a lot of road time. :(

this just dropped in my mailbox.

nice bike but the diatribe writing about makes it sound like it was written by an Ad man!!

xs400-macco-motors-1-625x625.jpg

Macco called in a friend to help (take out the electric starter system): ex-MotoGP mechanic Sergio Pitencel, who worked with Carlos Checa and Roberto Puig in the Honda team in the ’90s. “He’s a wise man from whom we learnt a lot.”

The battery was removed and the circuit converted from DC to AC. Two control modules were then made up: one for the starter system and another one for the lights, which are powered by a small 8Ah Lithium-ion battery from Ballistic.

all the bikes are AC and convert to DC and since when is an 8ah battery small?

rant over

Pay no attention to the ground behind the curtain. Focus on the fancy leather kicker wrap, it'll distract you from the shoddy bits.

(Glad I'm not the only one who noticed that)

I'm glad that I'm not the only one who found that bike and write-up to be pure rubbish. Like so many other bikes from "builders" featured on that site.

It's what I'd call a "far" bike. Good from a far distance. But far from good...
