So its above freezing outside and the sun is actually getting into the sky, I can take the bike outside instead of trying to kill myself in a room full of super rich exhaust.

She runs, but not well. I think the right spark plug is not firing but I have purchased this cool little spark plug tester. I set it at 3mm, I get the occasional spark. If I wind it to 1.3mm I can see a reliable spark. Thats roughly double the spark plug itself at 0.8mm. I have fixed so I get a spark on both sides but I am curious, how do you use this tool on a motorcycle. On the youtube it shows modern cars with their high powered ignition systems and its set to 3-4mm but mine is a little old points system so I dont expect to have a super strong spark?

Would you set your spark tester also to 1.3 or do you set yours different.

I ran the compression tester at warm, 110psi is left, Right is about 140psi. I suppose this will work as everything I find says about 140psi. Left is a little low I guess but it runs and thats a good start. Once question, while it runs on the left side it actually blows gasoline out the carburetta? I am sure its not supposed to do this but I cannot understand how. If the valve was wrong I would get crappy compression so I am thinking its a timing problem.

Did anybody ever see fuel being blown out the carburetter while the engine runs? Hold your hand in front of it and your hand will get wet with fuel...

Otherwise, we move forward. Hope to see you all on a ride in the xs400...
