I am getting close to starting up my “barn queen”. In all likelyhood lubricant/oil has slipped back down into the oil pan. I have heard that you should spray some type of lubricant into the cylinders before attempting to start. One suggestion was autotransmision fluid (not sure about that though!). Is there a good prep lubricant to use? Also I have been told to leave the plugs out and turn over the engine until the oil pressure light goes out. That ensures those old dry bearings etc. are getting oil.
If others have a method of starting up a dry engine I’d sure be glad to hear about it!
