I just installed my tcbros bronze swing arm bushes and i realised that my bike does not have any swingarm shims. There is maybe 2-3mm gap that lets the swingarm move side to side. Is this ok or should i get a couple of shims?
Also, is there any reason i can't just use a normal washer instead of the yamaha shim?

Cheers

A washer will most likely be to thick. I had to use a very thin shim on my 79 I think I paid $5 for it from yamaha:doh: but it did the trick. I don't remember what the thickness was but it was paper thin. Also make sure you torque the swing arm bolt to its proper lbs.

thanks Chris, if the shim is very thin then it probably isn't going to be much help to me. Does the frame squash in a bit when you tighten the swingarm nut?

Cheers.
