Testing stator

no manual.. second hand bike. if i did my brother has it stached or its long gone:cussing:
I'm at work at the mo.not 100 % sure .if you disconnect the plug that goes to the stator. get your meter and test the terminals. it's a block with four connection points but only 3 wires are active .if the stator is good you will get a reading of 4.6 ohms from each wire the reading might fluctuate depending on air temp.ill check my manual when home from work tomorrow.

what are the problems on your wiring 🤔

My ignition fuse is popping anytime I kick it...
u have a short somewhere. check all the wiring from the ignition spade connections etc .make sure they are tight.maybe in the birds nest 😃that's all the wires that are behind the headlight. keep looking you'll find it.

Hi friend!

I've attached some pages from the Haynes manual on how to test various electrical stuff. You'd be better served checking the manual yourself, though--you can download it here:

The screenshots are from Chapter 6 of that manual.

If I remember right, all the fuses are 10A except MAIN, which is 20A. If your IGN fuse is 20A and still popping, sounds like that's where you've got a short! Check your ignition switch, and follow the wires on the circuit to see which of those bad boys is giving you trouble. The wiring diagrams are provided in the manual I linked near the last few pages--pay attention to the models, because they do have some subtle and frustrating differences!
