I got tired of having to statically time my bike, so I made a polycarbonate timing cover so that I could do it with a timing light.

It's 1/2" polycarbonate, I cut the outside shape with a bandsaw, then smoothed it out with a belt sander. Then I used a mill to get clearance for the crank and the 3 bolt heads, .400" was plenty.

I'm pretty happy with it, timing my bike now takes significantly less time.
Let me know if you have any questions!

I actually took it off as soon as I was done with the timing, I still think the stock cover looks far better.
I just made this as a tuning tool.

Thats a sweet cover I would keep it on all the time but couldn't you have just left the cover off:shrug: not much oil comes out (if on center stand or propped against a wall) and you would only have the bike on for a short time.
