Hi there, I’m in a bit of trouble and I’m after some help! Today I was checking the oil seal on my XS250 but when I doing so I noticed that the shaft moved back and forth. Upon putting everything back together I now can’t shift down? It felt like I was able to shift up gears fairly easy and now downshifting is solid and doesn’t move? Wondering if anyone has a solution?
Thanks

I had the same problem. get the back wheel off the ground. with the clutch cover off attach the gear lever.rotate the wheel back and forth while wiggling the gear leaver don't be forceful. just keep at it ,took me 2 hours .take the oil filler cap off and shine a torch in .you will see where the shaft needs to be.it easily slips off at that end.patience needed😃

Did you remove the shift lever? Could you have put it on a spline off?
