xs400 basketcase first build

Good day folks!
I am very excited to have picked up an almost complete basketcase xs400..
2 fames (1 with papers), tripple trees, forks, risers, bars, tank, wheels, sprocket,

carbs, headers and the engine which needs a top end rebuild, right side piston is pock marked from a blown valve.. came with replacement piston, 2 new exhaust valves and a gasket set all or $300!
After a bunch of 'research' i have my sights set on a scrambler style build..
I have included pics of the engine and am looking for detailed info from the block #4T4-001771
I believe the papered frame is a 78, i dont have those numbers at the moment..
I am going to try to document this build to the best of my ability on my insta and youtube @themightydonallan ..
Really looking forward to learning as i go and tapping into the wealth of knowledge presented within this site!

After a little more research i have discovered the pertinent info for my engine!
4T4-001771 = XS400 SH 1981

Starting the cleanup/teardown later this week..

I stumbled on your rebuild in youtube, now in here. your doing an exelent job. because of your viedo on youtube you have inspierd me to start my rebuild on my xs 400 motor, thanks for filming your excelent work.

This is so good to hear!
It is a slow process what with the slow mail system atm and juggling work and play.. but progress is being made!
I will continue to film and post as i go!
