The motorbike sat unused in a garage in Sweden for 25 years, last registered expired in 1999 and parked up and abandoned. I paid too much for it but its my project now so way we go.

So far everything I open is bad, the carburettors were full of green gunk, it is completely rebuilt now and waiting reinstallation on the bike.

The rear wheels flat and the bearings did not turn, leaking through the valve assy so I ordered a new set of valve assy from China along with the tool to install it and remove it. Had to learn how to use tyre leavers and first ones I bought were much too small....but youtube and bigger leavers and success.

The motor I have had running but really badly I hope due to wrong float adjustment but I also found holes in the carburettor boots so I have ordered some from China.

The front brake assy all the rubber in the master cylinder was totalled, so I have ordered a new kit from USA but also a completely new hand brake assy from China (it was eight dollars) and I will see which one is best. I also ordered a 14mm hone (found in China) and will rehone out the bore for the old hand brake master cylinder assy and see if that is ok and works.

Ordered new bearings and they are on there way now, for front and back wheels. I saw a nice tutorial how to install them using a threaded rod as a press so I will do this and hopefully the bearings will go in.

My front mud guard was cracked and somebody tried to fix it, I guessed I could not make the repair worse by welding it...I made it worse as you can see. Need to find a new front fender and will be making a business trip to Chicago area early next year so hopefully I can find a breaker shop (wrecking yard) and get a nice second hand one along with any other goodies I can find. As a high status member in SAS airliner I can get 46 kilograms (100lb) free so I can carry a lot back, it might be the best place to get stuff as I have found Europe to be absolutely useless for most parts. The stuff is on their web site until you order it and then it is not avaliable. Getting stuff from UK turned out to be tricky after Brexit as they are no longer in the union so I get a customs fee, a VAT fee and a paperwork fee on everything ordered.

Have a friend coming to visit from USA so he is going to bring the new brake master cylinder kit I ordered and sent to his house, and brake shoes. Bearings I all found in China for about 1 dollar each so that's on order, 6203z abd 6202z seem pretty universal. 14mm hone will be around xmas time so will rebuild the master cylinder and try it.

All rubber bits and pieces I have found in China, so will replace them. I have bought all LED lights to replace all the old ones including the front headlight.

Have to decide to carry a spare set of ignition points (contacts) or convert it to electronic as mine is point system. I feel its perhaps more reliable but I think I will be carrying spare points with me.

Hope to get it finished by summer and then registered and ride it down through central Europe for adventure.

Looks like great progress from the pictures - thanks for posting those! I would just put the fender back on the bike and if anyone asks, just tell them that is where a meteorite hit it when it was parked outside.

It kinda looks a bit Mad max style but welding is not my skill...I dont even know why I bought a welder I am so bad at it. Hopefully my Chicago plan will work otherwise, meteorite it is!!

My daughter says I put so much Chinese stuff on the bike it will either explode or catch fire :)
