    I got it! The ID for both BS & VMs r identical. Right now they have 22.5 pilots, 135 mains and using the needle jet and needle that comes with them. Needle clip in top (leanest) position. Runs great no hesitation anywhere if any thing I might replace needle with the next leaner one in order to...

    Hi Guys, sorry for being away... Okay I finally got a pair of Mukuni 34mm VM carbs. they came with 260 mains 35 pilots. Swapped out the mains with 135# and pilots with 22.5#. It's still too rich everywhere. Any suggestions? Oh yea stock exhaust and Mike's XS Pods...

    un- related, well sort of, I'm un clear as to the use of the exhaust cross over verses a 2 to 1 exhaust and the use of single pod air filters over the stock air intake system. By the way, I'm having a lot of fun with this bike and having rode it except around the block once!

    1980 special. Thanks Ill try both the leak text first. I did remove the caps over the mixture screws and set them at 11/2 turns out. I'm more than willing to replace the carbs if need be or go to a single system...

    Hi Guys, I've cleaned the carbs replaced needle valves, plugs and wires. When the carbs are synchronize the right cylinder "pops" at idle. I'm lost!
