Woho! The bike is up and running again :bike: Seems that all internal parts of the engine survived the camshaftsprocket failure. Now i just have to set up the carbs and deal with the front brake and it´s ready for the rest of the season
At the first look it looks like everything is fine No visible damage on pistons or valves.
Gonna take a closer look before reassembling. About 40000km / 25000miles on the motor.
So. My front brake cylinder have chosen to pass into the life after this.
Been looking all over the internet and i still haven't found the answer.
Is there a front brake cylinder bolt on for the -82 xs400 special.
Org. parts are hard to find here in Sweden. So if there is one I can...
In an attempt to set up the carbs to work with the open pod filters and 2-1 exhaust disaster struck. Without any warning the bike just died.
Turned out it was the camshaft sprocket  No more riding for a couple of weeks. Waiting for a new one. Shipping here from US takes a while.
So my oil pressure switch is broken  On ebay there is a bunch of switches witch say they will fit the Xs400. are there different switches for different years/models?
I have the -82 Special
As it stands right now. I am thinking about the tank. This is another tank i bought and smashed with the hammer for kneedents and then sanded down and left it outside.
I kinda like the look it gives to the bike..
After a very long year the build is back up!
I've redone the wiring and stripped it down to minimum.
After some problem the bike started up nice for the first time in four years.
Will be linking a video later.
still having some problems whit the front brake. i have to pull really hard on...
Thanks guys! =)
Really happy to be here. lots of positive people!
I have been thinking about dropping the front end a bit. maybe a inch or two.
Gonna get some paint on the frame this week and then start the assembly again =)
