Does clogged jets and holes effect throttle aswell as idle? Thank you for the responses.

Ok I checked and there not blocked in any way. I got it to run and drive with choke all the way out but it idles really high and dies at half choke.

Ok, so i have a custom rat rod im building 1980 xs400, straight pipes two into one, cone air cleaners. it runs with the choke all the way out and idles high but once you put the choke half way or all the way in it dies. now i bought a jet kit and still cant figure it out. any suggestions or...

Hi everyone, Still new to everything, I have a 1981 xs400 chopper I'm building and I'm stuck on wiring. It runs on the left cylinder only. I don't have spark on the right, both coils are working and good plugs. I've narrowed it down to a orange wire coming off the ignition unit. But I don't know...

Ok so I figured out the wiring got it running now I gotta time the whole thing, it's back firing and dying lol

Yeah I don't have a TCI then. I made a hole new battery box. What does a TCI look lik and where can I get one?

i have no ignition on it, just the rectifier/regulator, kill switch, lights on/off, high and low beam, coils, points, ect. i did find a post someone did about how they check there coils and when i did that i got nothing so im assuming there shot but it ran before so who knows. the wierd thing is...

its in neutral and the clutch is pulled but nothing, do i need a condenser? like i said my bike has only what i need to start it and i got no spark but it ran before i took it apart. but thats a very interesting point that i would have never guest for these bikes

ok, i have 1981 xs400 special 2. new wiring on stator and field coil, new combo regulator and rectifier all hooked up, power going into the coils but no spark? and its wired as kick only

red and black i got but whats brown that comes off the regulator/rectifier? i got the 3 white wires, green, red and black but the brown i have no clue.
