This is the funnest little bike I've ever ridden. I ride it almost every day to work now. 20 miles each way on back roads in Central NY. I've put about 300 miles on it so far. Did I mention that it still has the original Bridgestone tires! Just awesome!
I can't get it to do anything. I drive my bike to school and I don't want the seniors messing with it if they decide to do some end of the year pranks :)
Ok, Are the bulbs in the flashers and the bulbs in the indicator panel wired in a way that if one bulb is out, the others won't work? I remember reading that, but wanted to confirm or dismiss before I went to work checking every bulb and taking off the panel.
If I have the petcock in the on position so no gas comes out, can I safely remove the tank? There is also what appears to be a vacuum hose running from the petcock to the top of the carb intake. I just don't want gas to pour all over my garage floor.
Can a bad flasher relay cause the flashers not to light up at all? In the old Hondas I used to fix up the blinkers would usually stay on solid and I knew it was the relay. On my 1977 xs400, none of the blinkers light up at all, but the wiring is all clean and tidy (buke has 4,000 miles and is in...
None of my signals work. Could this be a relay issue or something else. Everything else works fine. The battery is brand new. If the relay is totally shot, will the signals not come on at all?
Is this in the prime position or the reserve position. I'm hoping reserve. I left my bike in the prime position over night and now it won't start. Did I flood the engine with gas? Is a 1977 xs400. Thanks, here's a pick of my petcock (that doesn't seem like something I should say on the Internet).
I am very excited to say that I picked this baby up for $700 last night! 4,000 miles on the clock. Great, original condition. I'm new to the Yamaha world, mostly restored old Hondas. I'm hoping this won't need much restoring.
