When I first got my bike it was real sluggish, turns out one of the spark plug wires was loose and was only running on 1 cylinder a lot of the time...maybe you are dropping a cylinder at some point?

I've got to replace my fork dust covers/caps (top pic), do the "cafe fork boots" do the same thing as a dust cover or are they just for show on the fork?

Put new plugs in and went for about a 30 mile ride mostly about 35-45mph. All stock 1981 xs400h b, both plugs are ngk pbr7es. This is what I found when I pulled the plugs after I got home. So, tell me about 'em, plug on the right is the cylinder on the right side while looking at the bike.
