I have not. In order to do this, do you adjust the screw attached to the rotation springs and butterfly valves that is situated between the two carbs (the one that is kind of above the idle speed screw?).

thanks xsleo. I have cleaned my carbs really well several times, but i guess i will pull them off and give it another go. could the carb holders be causing this problem?

I trimmed the inside of the pods and adjusted the mix screws. Helped A LOT! now it will start right up and idle for a long time (only on full choke, however). The idle is still erratic and eventually (after about 15 min) begins to climb such that i have to kill the engine. I think it is time...

also, I think i want to lower the front headlight in order to visually lower the front end a bit...is there a clean way to do this without lots of metal fab, or should i just lower the triple clamps on the fork legs a bit?

so here are some pics. essentially, i just bent some 1/4" steel bar to fit the contours of the inside of the frame rails (used a piece of 2x4 for an edge and pulled...i mean cold forged...it into shape) and spot welded them on. i dropped the front of the pan by about an inch for more room...

got the new electrics pan made and mounted over the last coupla days....i am waaaay crappier at welding than I remember from my last foray with it a decade ago. its a little sloppy, but she'll ride. also got pod air filters installed...coming closer.....

welded in homemade electronics pan to fit under the seat between the rails, rerouted all the wires, etc into the pan. installed new pod air filters, removed rear shock shrouds, installed new modular breather filter and am currently charging the new battery. she is sooo close to alive again...
