    XS360 with Carb/Jetting Issues will XS400 fit?

OK, so for the sake of contributing to the greater good, here is what I have accomplished so far. First and foremost, the XS400 (80-82) carbs will fit, and use the same throttle cable. The OD of the engine side of the carbs is the same as the XS360. The OD of the air filter side of the...

    XS360 with Carb/Jetting Issues will XS400 fit?

Thanks Wolfe, I shot a message over to xschris, hopefully i can snag these from him. Where exactly did you find the information indicating the 28s would be ideal? Is that in the Mikuni graph that has aperture diameter on left, and PS on bottom, http://www.mikuni.com/pdf/vmmanual.pdf...

    XS360 with Carb/Jetting Issues will XS400 fit?

SO THE QUESTION THEN IS... Does anyone out there know for sure the 400 carbs would fit, and be tunable? Or have or know of a place that can make or has 360 diaphragms (again JBM is out)? Would there be any specific year models of 400 carbs that wouldn't work, and i need to stay away from? ANY...

Trouble rebuilding petcock (leaking at pinhole)

This is what the original set looked like. I wonder if I could get the bike to run on the bs34s. Sorry about the multi posting. Couldn't get both pics to upload at the same time.

Trouble rebuilding petcock (leaking at pinhole)

Thanks for the info chris, I did find the butterfly shaft seals, but i didnt pull the brass tube out to find the oring on it. I tried several times to get the jets all out but every one of them was stuck and the heads were trying to strip. At that point I stopped because I wasnt sure of the...

Trouble rebuilding petcock (leaking at pinhole)

I sprayed them down with carb cleaner and put them back together when I first got the bike running, but it had this issue. I then completely disassembled them (besides the brass jets? which i was about to booger up trying to get them out, so I left them). Other than that I soaked everything in...

Trouble rebuilding petcock (leaking at pinhole)

Got it fixed. I reassembled it clocking the diaphragm and spacer a couple different ways, and finally found one that got it working properly. Now on to my next issue... carbs causing rpms to hang up when rpms go over 2500.

Trouble rebuilding petcock (leaking at pinhole)

Carb Issues (previously Petcock leaking at pinhole) I receive the petcock disassembled in a box. I have installed new seals, but I dont think I have it back together correctly. There is a small pinhole that goes into the diaphragm cavity, that has fuel pouring out of it, when in the res or...

    Rebuilding Grandpa's Old 360 (Introduction

Hello All, I am a Mechanical Engineer, for a coal mine in central Texas near Waco. My Grandpa's 360 sat in his barn since 1980, the last time it ran. I used to sit on it as a kid and tell him I wanted to ride it, his response being that it was too dangerous and he didnt want any of us...
