i feel pretty dumb about this post now...but, heres the update. so i pulled apart the lever assembly again and dug into it as far down as i could get. low and behold at the very bottom, the wire running to my left blinker's soldering had come off. :doh: now to find a soldering gun...

hi guys, so i have an 82 xs400 heritage special. i just noticed today that my left blinker wasn't working, so i'm not sure the actual term for it, but the blinker lever assembly??? i took apart and cleaned it. it was pretty dirty. i test the blinkers and now they both work... until i reassemble...

checked with the gps, the speedo is indeed correct, just need to roll the throttle more than i was expecting. also seems like a low gear ratio.

so the clutch is working wonderfully now :D, the speedo cable is spinning. still dont trust the speedo i'll have to take it out tomorrow with my gps and see how off it may or may not be. thanks all.:bike:

hi all, if you saw my last post i finally got my first bike and with some very good help managed to get it running real smooth :bike: . so, now that i've ridden the bike around a little... it seems that the clutch doesnt catch until i almost let it all the way out. i'd like to change this to...

Throttles is snapping back fine. I have a suspicion that this bike sat in a barn/garage for a few years, so i'll definitely look into some carb cleaner and let you know how that works. Thanks. :)
