thinking about getting an '82 XS400, advice welcome

I've got a 84 maxim 400 and LOVE it. Decent power and fun to ride. Not to mention awesome fuel economy. Bought mine for $300 us and bobbed it. They are a well made machine in my book. Good luck nd have fun.

    In line fuses

my only thought was I could shorten wires enough for fuses and they could lay flat under seat instead of fuse box which is an inch or so tall.

    In line fuses

Was wondering if anyone out there has used inline fuses instead of a fuse box? I'm liquidating my turn signals and just thought of trying the inline route instead. Any input would be appreciated. Thx

    Soft tail bobber?

Hoping to liquidate most of the wiring and hide the rest. Also want to keep the airbox for now but was wondering if I cut the mufflers off and extended pipes would I have to rejet carbs.

    Soft tail bobber?

I appreciate the link to Google. I have searched through all of them already. Was hoping to see more detailed ones that focused more on each section of the bike. Like pics taken during the build not just finished projects.

    Soft tail bobber?

Cool. Thanks. Just wasn't sure if it was only for looks and old school ways or if you had to for some mechanical reason. I'm 6'4 280 so was hoping to keep shock on. Has anyone on here left the mono shock on?
