    82’ xs400 maxim jet tuning

    I’m planning on putting pod air filters and straight headers on my torn apart 1982 xs400 maxim, do I need to change the needles or anything besides the pilot and main jets?

    Xs400 weird idle issue

    Hi all, I've been fixing an old xs400 (1978 xs400f) I got a while back and finally have it registered and warranted (NZ) however I've had a constant issue that I just can't seem to fix. The bike runs well and has good power, but the revs will hang when you touch the throttle (not always) once...

    Runs great except for the idle.

    I need some help with my carbs on the 1980 xs400. I have cleaned the carbs several times including boiling in lemon juice. They are quite clean, and they smell lemony fresh too. The rubber diaphragms do not appear to have any holes. The inlet rubbers from the carbs to the engine are good...

    Jetting for high flow intake and straight pipes

    Can anyone give me some info on how to (I have a general idea) and what size jets? I'm pretty sure i have between 140 and 160 on hand. Thanks guys
