Looking to replace the old Duro brand tires on a 1980 XS400G, it has spoked rims. The tire says tube type on sidewall. Cant seem to find tire replacement suggestions anywhere on this site. Any recommendations greatly appreciated.
Thanks for the help

I am confused as whether it is safe to use a tubeless tire on these rims.

I have no first hand experience, but numerous postings on this forum that I've read indicate that you can use a tubeless tire with a tube inside and, that with spoked wheels you always need to use a tube.
So, once you have a good tube (and the protective liner inside the wheel too I guess), you can use either type of tire that fits the wheel properly.

@geollf I have the same bike and use the kenda challanger tires as they are cheap, seem pretty durable, and have good grip in the corners. Another common replacement tire is the Bridgestone bt45's but they are a lot more expensive

I got my rear tire off of amazon, for total $55.00 via Motorcycle Superstore,
Shinko SR735 Rear Cruiser Tire
Color- --, Size- 110/90S-16

It was on sale, 20% discount, Keeps you eyes open!
