Thanks! I forgot to add that I also swapped the rear stock shocks out for some shorter, and stiffer, Progressive Suspension shocks a friend gave me. Tons of dead shitty wiring eliminated too, and re-lined the tank with the Por 15 kit that some other forum members recommended. So many cans of...

Big winter in the shed, finally got it all back together, and back on the road! Stoked with new bars, throttle, front master, clutch lever, switches, gauges, braided stainless brake lines, ammo box/electrical box, Pingel petcock, and a lick of paint. Summer morning rides are ruling!

    Clogged petcock!

Oh man, bike stalling with traffic behind you, in a tunnel!! The last time I had my bike out, it was stalling due to the clogged petcock, and I had to roll-start it, and force it to get home, I had a few close calls with traffic behind me! I will get this all sorted before spring, which is when...

    Clogged petcock!

Yes, thankfully the inline filter did its job! The clogged petcock was starving the carbs real bad, it was a steady gong show of frustration....always missing something obvious! The carbs will get cleaned, like they do every winter.

    Clogged petcock!

Ha! yes xschris! My wife paid a dude at the local radiator shop to line her tank right around the same time she had the petcock replaced....I guess dude did a horrible job, as the tank is pretty rusty inside at this point! I just disassembled the petcock, and cleaned the green jello out of it...

    Clogged petcock!

The tank on my 79 had a 22mm bung welded onto it about 10 years ago, and a cheap universal petcock installed. Lately, the fuel has been slow to get flowing.... Took it off today to confirm what I expected!! The mechanism on the cheap universal is troublesome to begin with, I am on the hunt...

Lurking on here for awhile, but forgot to introduce myself. My wife got a ready-for-scrap 79 XS400 back in the early 1990's, and her brother helped get it running, and she kept it running for a solid decade. When I first met her, she had the carbs out on a kitchen table where she lived with...

    ANTIQUE License Plates!

That's rad HoughMade that you can use a plate from that year! Up here the plate renewal fee is cheaper, the insurance is cheaper, and no yearly safety inspections make the Antique plate an amazing deal.

    ANTIQUE License Plates!

So here in Nova Scotia Canada, all motor vehicles require a yearly, or bi-yearly "Safety Inspection".... The Province sets up mechanics to do the work, for a fee, and if you speak to the mechanics, they HATE doing these "inspections" for the government, as it it eats time, and is a paperwork...

    1st Bike Build - Monoshock

Sick! The backyard fire/forge is a great photo. You skate much? I lived in Mississauga in the mid 80's, and have skate friends in TO that I still skate with when I visit. Heading to skate Ashbridge's Bay's new kidney pool next month with all the old locals! Great bike, turned out sweet.
