I looked last night, and mine says that this bike has a TCI rather then ignition points so check chapter 6, and chapter 6 mentions no way to set timing.
I'm about 99% sure I didn't as the spark plug covers were ziptied facing the proper direction to the frame when I bought it.
I'm not sure this is the case because I haven't touched the flywheel or timing mechanism, I just replaced the top end of the engine and set everything to TDC as the...
I'll do the rolling trick, and I forgot to mention, I didn't put the chain back on or the cover for it, I don't suppose that along with the air filter would prevent me from just starting it...
I found out the main fuse that connects to the battery was busted and replaced it thinking that might fix it. Still no luck :( starting fluid does not work either.
I'll double check. I don't have starting fluid but I will pick some up. I still havent attached the air filter but I just want to make sure it fires before I waste my time putting everything together. Still haven't even put the chain on.
I lapped the valves and made sure it was TDC and the 'o's were on top and whatnot. My neighbor helped me out and it looks like both spark boots give out a spark. I'm pretty sure I have good compression but I close up to the engine in this video so anyone can get a good look. Could it be the...
If I buy this, will it likely take care of all my problems?

Probably not. I just took it out for a spin and it doesn't sound too good. Sometimes I can silence the clankiness by running it a certain RPM and it shuts up, seems to run very smoothly in 3rd gear and 1st gear if I put the choke in the right position. 4th gear is no good, I get a decent amount...
Ok. It is now idling, and I am even able to drive it without worry, but I do hear a knocking sound and my neighbor says I have "valve tick" and it's only a matter of time before this thing is dead if I keep riding it as is. Is this true?
Please PM me. I want this thread for my problem.
I was able to get my bike to work this morning but I had to hold down the throttle pretty much the whole time. The rattling happens on gear 1-2 but once I get to 3rd gear there is no more rattling and my bike runs fine. I may adjust the idle...
