    @xschris Exactly! I feel fortunate to have it. I have a 1981 XS400 as well that is in pretty good shape but nothing like this 1980 bike.

    @Greggy This bike is in Iowa. It was owned by a guy in Des Moines. He got it many years ago as payment for a service and just stored it.

    Gandy 1980 Yamaha XS400 Special

    Here is my 1980 XS400 Special in original condition except for modern tires. I have some additional polishing to do on her yet she is in great shape and runs perfectly. I got the bike last fall from a guy who had it stored nearly 30 years. It has 7600 miles on it.
