I drilled two holes into the horizontal bar of the frame. I used wing nuts to hold it in place. Hah
I no longer have the bike so I can't show you. Sorry!
It would have been pretty uncomfortable, but if you're both small, it's possible.
I haven't synced the carbs yet, but I played with the idle mixture screw today after cleaning the carbs pretty well and the bike is up and running! Runs fairly well now. Yesssss.
I'll get a manometer soon and see sync it properly soon.
I'm honestly not sure what jets they are. I think the PO said that someone had changed them at one point. There are indicators on them, right?
I'll check the valve clearance again, but I made sure that they were correct the first time I did them.
I haven't used a manometer yet. Only adjusted...
I can't seem to figure out what the issue is. My spark plugs are fouled now, so I'll have to get new ones again. I need to figure out what the issue is first so I don't keep fouling the plugs, of course..
I took off the idle mixture caps today, so I'll try messing with that again tomorrow or...
Lots of sanding ahead of me, then! Not a big deal.
I'll enjoy the finish as is for now. It's already dirty, but I'm okay with that. I'm just ready to get this back on the road.
Got my tank back today from the sandblaster! I was expecting to be a nice bare metal finish, but it seems like there's a rough primer-like layer on it. Ah well, I still like it. I can polish it myself later on.
I replaced my petcock and float seat and valve so it doesn't seem like I'm leaking...
What are the little plates on the other end of the spindles supposed to look like? Are they flat and parallel with each other or are they at slight angles?
This is so simple yet complicated. -sigh-
Thank you, Chris.
I noticed that my front brake lever wouldn't spring back, so I thought I'd mess around with the brake.
Looking back, I probably should've just tried lubricating the cable first..:banghead:
Anyway, I was dumb enough to mess with the linkages and now my front brake no longer works. How am I...
I removed the starter cable today. I want to remove the entire unit, but I don't want to deal with finding a way to attach the cover back on without it..I'll do it eventually.
I also replaced my float seats and needles! Feels much better now.
Gotta replace the oil and gasket tomorrow, as well...
I've got an inline filter, actually! I was worried that it was too big, but I'm waiting for my new petcock to arrive on Thursday before I put it back on. :)
It's not thaaat uncomfy.
I'd definitely like to get it professionally upholstered after a while, though!
