    MikesXS coils

Hey everyone, Have any of you used the Mikes XS coils like the ones pictured here? I just orderd a set and there wasnt a wiring diagram included in the packaging. I need to know which wire is the ground and which wire goes to the points and condenser. Each coil has one orange wire and one...

    Stator

Should be three white wires that plug into the rectifier. They come from the stator which is located under the engine cover on the left side of the bike. The readings on your multimeter should be .72 ohms plus or minus 10% between the three white wires.

    Wanted - choke lever

Hey guys, Just got back from a short ride and realized I lost my choke lever some where along the way:shrug: If any of you have some old carbs laying around from a 1977 XS360/400 (BS34 Carbs) and would be willing to sell me the choke lever let me know. It seems to be obsolete from Yamaha...

    regulator/rectifier

There is nothing really visably wrong with it. I just did the resistence test between the three white wires as per the service manual. The resistence between the three whites is supposed to be .72 ohms. The readings I was getting were much higher, cant remember what they were exactly. Anyway I...

    regulator/rectifier

Turns out my stator and voltage regulator were bad! Just my luck!:banghead: Anyway, I picked up a stator on ebay and a R 292 Regulator from O'Rielly Auto and now everything is working fine. Thanks for your help Drewcifer

    regulator/rectifier

Ok Drewcifer, I started the engine and used a feeler guage (didnt have a razorblade) to check for magnetism, nothing. I made a jumper from my positive batt terminal straight to the green wire feeding the Feild coil, still no magnetism. So now I am assuming I should pull the generater cover...

    77' XS360/ My first build!

Yeah they fit fine between the forks, but you are right, they are close!! On the rear I had to add a couple links to the chain so they wouldnt rub the front of the swingarm and rear fender. They are also a b!#@* to get mounted on those stock narrow rims! I would highly recommend taking yours...

Think I have a bad regulator and rectifier but was hoping you all could help me out. I have started a thread in the "electrical" section titled "Regulator/rectifier" If you...

    regulator/rectifier

Hi guys I was hoping someone out there would be able to help me out. I just finished my 1977 XS360 project and have discovered that my battery is not charging. I have gone through all the tests in the service manual and as far as I can tell I have a bad regulator and a bad rectifier. I went...
