Nope nothing in detail. I know there is a hole in the base that gets covered up with the base gasket and has small channels that lead to the head studs. And then I remember oil seals around those studs on the under the head gasket I believe. But I remember while putting it back together thinking...

So I don't think I'm getting oil to the top end. I opened the check bolt and had nothing coming out. How does the oil actuall flow to get up there? I remember the base gasket only having holes for the studs and the pistons. Can anyone clear up the path for me?

I just cut my exhaust off at the headers and was thinking of doing the same as yours. Did it quiet it down by adding the extensions? Any baffles?

Well I'm dripping oil from the front where the 2 smaller bolts are. Was I supposed to use rtv there? Or do I maybe have a bad head gasket? Looks like I'm taking the head off again to see what's goin on.

Good call. I had a float needle that was sticky and would either not let fuel through or would stay open and dump fuel out the carb! Damn you e85 fuel! They say it start turning to gel if not used within 30 ish days!!

Just take your time and pay attention. It's pretty easy. I tore my DOHC top end down and back together and timed in an hour! I recommend printing put the manual so you can hold it in hand and I made a paper with all the torque numbers so I didn't have to search for them.

Well you know the basics. Fuel spark and compression. You have verified the spark. What were the compression numbers? And clearly you have some fuel problems since you are only getting it to one side. Start with a carb clean. Take everything out. Clean clean clean and see if you are getting fuel...

Sounds good. I'll just get a full kit and have the spares! Been racking my brain on the tank and seat! Can't stand the way it looks. Tank is way to wide and the seat is huge! Time to start researching and looking for some new stuff!
