Antigravity Batteries. 4 or 8 cell?

It can not be destroyed everytime i take a test ride. Allowing me replace components and wiring then take a test ride without being stranded and having to buy a new battery.

    Ultracapacitor

I think this is practical for people who ride old bikes with character, ride every single day, or don't ride very often at all. The ultracap would be worst for someone who rides a bike with a rocksteady charging system once or twice a week.

    Ultracapacitor

I have three regulators and rectifiers including stock and an exspensive mosfet one. They all do the exact same thing. Work great for about six miles then become weak and erratic. I'm wanting to upgrade to a permanent magnet alternator but not sure when I'll have the time, money, and energy...

    Ultracapacitor

Another plus but one that doesn't apply to me. In a location with cold winters you can take it off your bike and put it on your car or truck to save your battery and have powerful cold weather cranking.

    Ultracapacitor

    A bit bulky but bling!

    Ultracapacitor

I have been slowly upgrading my charging system but a major hurdle is it destroys batteries. So in looking for a battery that allows me to ride my bike for testing or when I'm just sick of wrenching on it i stumbled across this...

Antigravity Batteries. 4 or 8 cell?

Lithium batteries shouldn't burn out your electrical system i think its more an old weak charging system destroying your lithium battery. If your charging system constantly runs at 14.1-14.5 volts even at idle then you should be fine with a lithium batterry. My charging system is erratic with...

Antigravity Batteries. 4 or 8 cell?

It's not an ideal solution. It works but i was hoping it would help my bike at lower rpms. I think a lithium battery with a battery management system would be best. For as much as they charge for a lithium starter battery it should have low voltage cuttoff, and a regulated charging voltage that...

Antigravity Batteries. 4 or 8 cell?

I think its rated for -50f. Its designed to start large engines in cold weather in tandem with a battery. I should literally be able to jumpstart a dump truck.

Antigravity Batteries. 4 or 8 cell?

I have given up on lithium. I'm installing a 16volt 83 farad ultracapicitor. Pros, never wears out, charges and discharges as fast as you can put in or take out power. Cons looses stored power in a day or two.

Engine sometimes starts, always cranks, never runs

I'm not sure how much you want to spend but I'm running the carbs from mikes xs. Some have had bad experiences but the work well on my bike. I had to use the gasket as a template to mill them to fit though.

1979 xs400 mosfet regulator rectifier theory

I'm satisfied with my charging system for the moment. I'm hoping replacing the battery with an ultracapitor will make the most of a weak system. Ultra capacitors are close to 99% efficient at releasing and absorbing electricity. I'm trying to figure out comparing farads to amp hours to...

Wait I'm wrong it does ground excess current.

1979 xs400 mosfet regulator rectifier theory

I'm pretty sure the mosfet turns off the current from the alternator and only shunts off tiny amounts of excess current generated faster than the mosfet can react, paired with an ultracapicitor which will absorb all excess current till fully charged should be interesting.
