hey lucho, the rear wheel is a 21" Harley wheel. I buy a blank sprocket with the amount of teeth I want and then I drill the harley bolt pattern to mount it to the wheel. the disk is just a Harley bolt on disk.
ok, the handle bars measure: 10 inches tall, 7 1/2 inches at the bottom, 2 1/2 inches at the top (between the pointy parts) and 18 1/2 inches at the grips (from end to end)
hey lucho do you want the measurements for the bars in the picture you made drawings on? or the ones I have on the bike after I painted it? they are two different set of bars. I will measure both of them for you. i'll be back tonight I am just leaving to the shop now.
I don't remember exactly but I believe they where 8-10 inches tall. I am going to the shop to work today. I will measure them and then let you know tonight for sure.

I just wanted to throw my 2 cents in for good measure. all depending on what your exact plan for welding is. if you plan on doing sheetmetal and minor fabbing on your frame then buy the welder you mentioned. if you plan on doing some major mods on the frame such as structural ect. I would buy a...
the major thing it has going for it is that there is not a cooler xs400 in my area for sale. i'm a reasonable guy and would be open to offers except trades. I am ready for the long haul need be.
here is my latest project complete and up fur sale. it is a 1978 yamaha xs400. I basically gave the frame a mild facelift on the tail section and neck area. made a tank, fender, handlebars and seat for it. everything was tore down for paint and powder coating. it has new tires and runs awesome...
