Sorry Lou, I was being a bit of an idiot there and forgot to elaborate. You are right a bates Style Solo seat is a solo seat (classic bobber style) but my plan was to weld some stiffeners towards the back end, tidy up the frame so it looks a bit tidier and then mount a small single pillion pad...

I'm running a 1981 XS400 U.S. Custom Model. It has a front disc brake as well, so I'm guessing a drum conversion would be necessary? B-)

Oh I was on about 2up because your suggestion of the seat mounting and I don't want to take too add much more metal to the existing frame (if possible cut a little bit off in fact.). Cheers Man. B-)

Thanks for the input dudes. Ive decided to go for the recumbent....... LOL! :L it's probably just myself being image conscious that's all. Plus it is half done ATM, once I put the seat on it will probably be better anyhow. How easy is it to create a slightly longer swing arm anyhow? B-)

If you go on google and type in, Bassani Sweepers. That's the kind of exhausts I want to achieve. Check them out. I know that those specific ones, are designed for a Harley V-Twin but I'm just wondering if it would be possible to create some for an XS. Any tips on creation. Cheers B-)
