I have a 1980 Xs400 Aussie spec. 5E8 is the code of my bike. It has the tci ignition.
Ive always been under the impression that negative wires should never have power running in them.
Yeah thats correct.
Did a bit more testing and even with the regulator disconnected my negatives still give a postive reading, but its very faint. Its almost as if when the reg is plugged in its boosting the power on the negatives....

I need a new caliper for my 400. Im a bit skeptical about this one from mike xs. The oem reference number for the caliper does not match the 400 caliper part number. Any updates on using this caliper or anyone else used one of these calipers as a replacement?
Hey guys, Im a bit confused on what parts I should be buying.
I have a Aussie 1980 SOHC XS400 pre-fix 5E8
First off, my clutch cable I just removed is 120cm (47inch) I want to replace it but all the ones Ive found on ebay have either list them at a length of 106cm or they don't list the length...
So let me get this straight...the ones from CMSNL are correct
but the ones from yambits will fit but have a shorter thread.
Im just about to pull the trigger on a set and just wanna make sure i get the right ones.
