    Combo Regulator Rectifier - 79 XS400F

Plugged it in, 14.4 volts at the battery, voltage regulator in the combo must have been knackered...

    Combo Regulator Rectifier - 79 XS400F

Thats coool, hopefully :) I found it on ebay from some breakers, says it's from a 400, but everyone says the 400 and 250 are almost exactly the same, and it's not the mechanical one so hopefully everything shouyld be okay, guess I'll find out next week...

    Combo Regulator Rectifier - 79 XS400F

Yeah br + Gr - I've ordered another Voltage Regulator, I'm hoping it'll run with the 2 seperate units (seeing as the only connection between the two sides of the reg/rec seems to be the ground wire) until I can figure out whats wrong. I'm also thinking about reversing the green and brown wires...

    Combo Regulator Rectifier - 79 XS400F

I think the field coil is fine, when I wired it up difectly to the battery and started the bike I got ac voltage from the stator. There's no voltage from the green wire to ground, but there is from brown to ground. As for the reg/rec wiring diagram, no clue as it came with the bike when I got it..

    Combo Regulator Rectifier - 79 XS400F

The only thing I know for sure is the other two wires are for the oil and neutral sensors, which both work. When I did the same with the green wire there was no voltage reading, but I havent been back to the bike yet. I'm thinking plug the brown wires in and put the meter between the green...

    Combo Regulator Rectifier - 79 XS400F

Decided to reinvigorate this slightly old thread, I have a combo reg/reg, with everything seemingly plugged in as it should there's no power to the field coil through the reg/red as such, which made me think either the field coil was falty or the stator was faulty, but knowing nothing about...

    Field Coil

Wired the field coil direct to the battery and got a nice electro magnet, bunged everything back to gether and fired the bike up, and got some nice AC Voltage from the stator, so they both work. Also did a test on the reg/reg with the tester on the diode setting and everything seems okay, but...

    Field Coil

I'm getting 0.9. and there's 4 wires coming from the stator, but only 3 on the loom side of the plug, also my meter is a rather crap one... Also I'm not getting any reading between the stator and the casing.. There's not so many regulators and rectifiers over here in the UK, and the one I have...

    Field Coil

What came with the bike was a solid state aftermarket reg/rec, the originals arent there, Now I've checked and there's power to the field coil but no AC coming from the stator, problem is all the power is coming from the battery so when it's running even with all the lights off the battery...

    Field Coil

Hi folks.. I'm not blonde but might be having a blonde moment.. Everything on my XS250 seems to work fine, but the charging system, I'm not getting any power to the field coil so my regulator isn't pumping out any power. Wiring diagrams seem to puzzle the hell outa me for some reason, I can see...
