I pulled the valve cover off (after drilling out the stupid brass plug in the ignition cover) so I got it pulled and I literally found nothing visually wrong. My only finding is when adjusting the valves the right side exhaust adjuster was very hard to turn. I think I'm going too look for a...
I adjusted the valves on my 82 xs400. The tapping noise was quiet at first then got louder and louder the more it ran. I think the damage is done. Time to pull the valve cover off and see what's going on. I may be looking for a cyl head in the near future. Any tip or tricks would be appreciated...
Yeah this was like a year ago he had this done. Be bought a newer ktm duke and forgot about this bike. Last week I mentioned to him that I wanted to buy it and now I'm here lol
So I just bought a 82 xs400sj special. It's been messed with before. My buddy (previous owner) had some work done on it at a local "shop" well the guy said he adjusted the valves, when he got the bike back it started making a terrible ticking noise coming from the cyl head. Now where do I go...
