That Im going to chop my bike?Knowing how I feel about stock bikes would you believe me if I told you that Im going to do some chopping on mine?

Well, that is quite the question! I've "chopped" my bike, and I'm also a supporter of leaving a nice bike stock...

So, yes I believe you. And I'm also going to suggest you don't, unless it is financially wiser to do so.

I'd like to hear more on this topic as I am in the same boat. I have a 78 2E and nothing is wrong with the frame but I am wanting a certain style that would require some chopping of the frame.

Anybody have a pros and cons list or experience to share with those of us at this crossroads?

Nope down on the bottom of the frame where the rear pegs and exhaust bolt up this piece isnt nessacary.Im going to cut off in a way that if need be it can be weled on later. It will just make the bike have a cleaner looking appearance in my opinion so off its going.I`ll try and get some pics but my camera is running out of juice with a broken charging cored:banghead: Im in a bit of a fickle for taking pics.
As for a seat hoop I have the perfect piece of metal tubing for making one if I wanted to.

So I chopped those pieces off this afternoon.Gives the frame an older enduro look.Maybe sometime in the future I get some longer rear and front shocks give the bike some more lift. Then I`ll have dual sport bike which is what I have been wanting. So My bike will have some more mods sometime in its future.
