Noobie here '82 Heritage Special

Hi Gang,

New rider, first post.

Just got an 82 Heritage last week, and this morning, I noticed some surging throughout the ride (not significant, but noticeable). But what really concerned me, was accelerating through 1st and second, there was a significant loss of power, then an immediate increase of power...so far this has only happened on a cold engine....I'm taking it to a friend to check it out next week...any suggestions as to what direction to go?

I am going to say vacuum leak. There is a vacuum tube from the petcock to one of the carb boots. Potentially the rubber cap, could be deteriorating so that it has a air leak.

Any update on this? I'd love to know in case something similar happens to me!
