I will be painting or powder coating my cast wheels soon. Where is a good source for wheel weights? What kind work best? Are dyna beads any good?

I have heard rave reviews of dyna beads.
Bought a pack but wound up having a shop mount and balance.

They used stick-on adhesive weights, rather than the previously used spoke weights.

I'd try the dyna beads myself based on the nearly universal positive reviews.

Edit: Another view on beads:

Check the comments too.
I wouldn't think lateral imbalance would be much of an issue on bikes, especially our bikes' narrow tires.

FWIW I put ez tire beads in and removed my wheel weights today. 1 oz in front tire and 3 oz in rear per instructions. I have a 1978 XS400E with stock rims and tires. I made a short run up to 70 mph and no problems. So far so good.

I just bought some ez tire beads also because I bought two tires I am going to mount myself. But I don't know yet how well they work but what I have researched has made me optimistic.

I changed my tires myself in the shed. All I did was put the heavy side of the tire opposite the valve stem. I left the weights on the spokes that were probably from the factory with the original tires.. The new tires somehow have a perfect balance. I didnt have a balance fixture, nothing. I figured if the balance was off Id buck up and visit a shop.

My plan is mount the tires then just run them to see if they shake. If they do then throw in the beads to see if they work.

I like to save time so I just have the shop where I get my tires balance and true all my wheels. I have never had any issues and if I ever had an issue they fix or replace for free. It's also a good idea to make sure spoke wheels don't have and loose spokes. There is a process on how you adjust them.

I don't have much time and I have even less extra money. I bought a spoke wrench also to tighten spokes and true the wheels. We shall see how it goes :)
