    Jets and Pilot need resized?

Nvm I found some. Had to go into the yamaha parts manual and go through a bunch of sites typing them in individually. Got the set for $75, not too bad but not really wanting to put too much money into it right now.

    Jets and Pilot need resized?

Do you know if the carb holders are the exact same? My buddy has some for a bs34 but the part that you bolt to the cylinder the bolt holes are not far enough out. But everything else is correct.

    Jets and Pilot need resized?

Do you know if the 650 carbs are identicle to the xs400 on the bs34 carb model? I can find stuff that will fit the carb but not the engine side.

    Jets and Pilot need resized?

Yea I got them out atm. Waiting for a few more parts on carbs before I assemble it completely. Jets are just sitting in there until I get the new ones. And this is the choke thing im talking about. When its in resting place the hole seems to be covered (I'm assuming this is choked): But...

    Jets and Pilot need resized?

    Jets and Pilot need resized?

Alright I know this is going to sound stupid but I think I know what I am doing wrong. The bike doesnt have a choke line anymore so I was pressing the rod over (which is open) and I thought I was choking it but when I let off it was closing (choking). Is that how it works? So somehow I'm going...

    Jets and Pilot need resized?

So my bike was in the garage for about a hear without starting up so I took the carbs out and cleaned them (soaked them in cleaner for 24hrs about 3 times and used compressed air in all of the passage ways). I rebuild it this weekend and put all the original sizes in as the PO had a 125...

The manual says 263 Cubic cm plus or minus 4. Is this per fork or both combined?

    Working on '83 XS400K-R Maxim

Going to be putting in all new clutch plates, and putting on new fork seals. Not sure what the torques are for any of the bolts. Not sure if it is SOHC or DOHC. How can I tell what it is?

Bike won't idle at needed position.

In May I got my first bike (83' xs400 Maxim). I have just started trying to fix the bike up a little bit and I have little knowledge of what to do. I have taken the carbs apart and cleaned them. I know that the jets need changed but I am not sure what size to get as I do not know the size of the...

Rpm takes forever to lower after pulling in clutch or letting off throttle

When i take it out for bench test it spins and when i put it back in, it cranks slowly. I'll just stick to bump starting it for now. Does anyone know where I can get a choke cable at? I'm getting tired of having to hold the choke in with my finger in the morning :p

Rpm takes forever to lower after pulling in clutch or letting off throttle

So I did a battery load test last night at my dads house and the battery was good. I went out just a few minutes ago to do a voltage drop test. The ground is reading 0 res while touching the ground lead of the multimeter to the positive post and the positive lead of the multimeter to the starter...

Rpm takes forever to lower after pulling in clutch or letting off throttle

I know it's not the ground wire to the battery because I reran new wire and cleaned the area that it was on. Only other thing I can think is the battery? The other starter it had fired up a few time before it went bad(first day I got the battery). I have kept it on a battery maintainer for last...

Rpm takes forever to lower after pulling in clutch or letting off throttle

The line was off from where I was messing with the tank. Couldn't get it running to test the rpm. Now I need to find out why my starter is only getting 3 volts to it while the rest of the bike is getting 12.8v until I turn the key then they drop to 12.3 because the lights are on. Where does the...

Rpm takes forever to lower after pulling in clutch or letting off throttle

Would that be something that would make my rpm stay high also? Not sure if it would. I've tightened everything around the carbs and changed them different ways today. Going to spray some starter fluid around it tomorrow to see if the rpm going up and make sure they don't have cracks or holes.
