I would check connections first. The connection to the switch on the handle bars and then check the wire connections to the left blinker/s. Make sure you have a good ground.

Can someone one tell me where the 3 wires from the head light go on my 79 xs400. I have a yellow ,green and black. The black ground is where I'm running into issues. I have yellow to the yellow left hand control I have the green to the green hand control If I connect black to black it...

I am missing the black plug that covers the screw for the clutch adjustment. Anyone know where I can just get the plug. I see on ebay that you can get a used panel that has a plug but I don't need the panel just the plug.

17 digits is right for a VIN for newer models( maybe 1982 and newer). and 9 digits for older ones. What model and year is the bike your trying to buy?

Yeah we talked about doing something different. I will see when it is all put together. Should not be to hard to change.

I'm in the process of getting parts painted at the moment. Going with black frame and parts and matte black engine and rims.

After stripping out then unnecessary wiring such blinkers, I reran the wiring and made it as hidden as I could. Its not the best pic and everything was totally secured down. this is just a reference for me when I have to put it back together.
