    1976 XS360 Scrambler Build

My friends dad owns a custom-light-fixture-making shop and they have a small lathe. I bet it would be substantial enough to do aluminum and perhaps mild steel? I'll check it out. Also I know I have talked about this already but if I made a little frame jig out of square steep that would just...

    1976 XS360 Scrambler Build

:shootme: So it's been a while. I need a few spacers made and every machine shop that I contacted wants around $1000 for the spacers. So I don't know what to do. That's way to much for me. I need a weird bearing that is 28mm x 48mm x 13mm taper roller bearing and no one seams to sell one...

    1976 XS360 Scrambler Build

Just a little update. I ordered the wrong steering bearings and after checking they don't seam to have the right sizes, so I have decided to use the stock bearings and get the races machined a little. I can't do any machining or anything till my friend gets back in a few days .

    1976 XS360 Scrambler Build

I will also be trying to use the stock xs wheels because I like the look of the drum brakes and besides, who needs brakes that work?

    1976 XS360 Scrambler Build

Here it is all mocked up. I raised the back of the tank and tilted the bike back a little bit in order for the shock to fit. I will be making a new subframe.

    1976 XS360 Scrambler Build

I think it's about time for me to start a dang build thread. I have a 76" XS 360-2d. I bought it for $40 off Craigslist about a year ago. The bike had sat in this persons drive way for 5 years without a cover or tarp or anything, to add to that apparently they found it in San Fransisco in an...

    New monoshock

P.P.S. I figured out a way to use the stock shock by tilting the bike back a bit and raising the tank. I am also going to to fabricate my own new subframe. So it should be pretty cool. I also have the subframe that came with the KX frame so when all else fails I can bolt that one on.

P.S. Thank you a ton, those replies were very useful and made me not make any big stupid mistakes.

    New monoshock

Well you are correct about me not having a frame jig, but my friends dad does have a machine shop so I think I will be doing some work to make the stock head tube and triple clamps fit together. Infact all I really need is a spacer and the stem to be modified a little bit and it would work...

    New monoshock

Thank you a lot. That's a lot of useful info. I may have to do some more research :shootme: As for the front end I am using the stock inverted forks from the KX. I am gonna chop the head tube off the KX and weld it onto the xs maybe... I might try and get custom bearings, but I would need to...

Alright. Thank you. Yeah I am thinking of using an r6 shock possibly.

    New monoshock

Hello, I have a 76' xs360 that I am making into a scrambler/dual sport machine. I have a swing arm from a 93' KX250 and the stock shock that came with it is about 18" long and that just doesn't fit... at all. So I need a shock that's about 15" or 380mm or something around that size, does anyone...

1981 XS400 Special II Cafe Racer Build

I know this is a really old thread, but for fixing the left cylinder lean-ness could you add a more restrictive baffle to the left exhaust to make it run richer?

    1981 XS400 Scramblerized Build, eventually...

That thing looks so sick. Are you going to modify the frame so that the tank sits flat on the rails or just leave it?

    Running on one cylinder

Yeah it turned out that the pilot jet was clogged and the spark plug hole was stripped so it was loosing a lot of compression around the the plug threads. So I got a helicoil thread repair kit and fully cleaned the carbs. Started on the first kick.

    2-1 carb set up

And I could rephrase. But I don't have the resources or knowledge to do so.

    2-1 carb set up

Yeah I don't think I am going to, but it is just simpler and easier sounding. And I think it looks kinda cool.
