Well I started painting the tank this weekend and my base coat reacted with my primer and I had to sand and repaint. I am going to just do a simple gloss black tank I think. I am clear coating it now and tomorrow will mount it on the bike and go for a test run...at least that's the plan.

Last night I got the chain and kick stand on and my auxillary lights done on the frame of the bike. I will do some under the tank too but that has to wait until the tank is painted which I hope to start working on tonight. I have a bit of body work to do on it and then it'll be getting primer...

Got the headlight wiring fixed, horns mounted and wired (they are very loud which is nice), rear sprocket and tire on and the fuel tank coated.

Well tonight I got the front sprocket on, cleaned the tank and am letting it etch overnight, wired up a USB port to charge my phone, built some horn mounting brackets and did a bit of lighting work as well as getting the front brakes to work properly. I did run into one snag on my headlight...

I did rejet it but I haven't synced the carbs because I don't have the tools to do so yet but it is on my list of things to do before it's done. The bike runs real smooth at almost every rpm but there is one flat spot that I ran into last year and I'm hoping syncing them will cure it.

It's a bunch of mandrel bends that I put together myself. I personally like the shorter exhaust that follows the lines of the engine and I wanted 2" to get a deeper tone.

Yeah it's most definitely loud but that's what I enjoy and on the bike it's not bad.

Well I am building a special funnel for it but in the past I just have to pull the exhaust which isn't terrible but not real fun either.

Got the exhaust wrapped and front end started. More parts will be here tomorrow. Hoping by next weekend I'll be riding it.

The fuse holder I bought is much bigger than the stock one but I relocated mine from the stock position. I bought it at Napa but it had to be ordered in because not many people are using glass fuses anymore around here. Before I relocated mine and put in a fuse"panel", I was just running inline...

On my bike I had a 20 amp, 15 amp and two 10 amp fuses. I ended up putting a new fuse block in mine and I went with one that had 6 gangs so I had storage for a couple extra fuses. The one you linked above looks like it should work as long as the profile isn't too tall.

So I've debated doing that but I have two reasons why I haven't yet. One is I'm not sure if it will become too weak if I cut the hoop out. My shocks are mounted to the hoop at the lower end and I'm not sure if it would ruin the structural integrity. The second reason is I have gone back and...

I got a few more things mounted and installed and did some wiring and got my led blinkers working. I'm almost stuck until I get parts but I'll keep chiseling away at it.

Engine is in the frame! I have to do a bit of touch up after getting it wrestled into the frame and there is still a bit of masking tape on the engine that I am waiting to remove until I do my touch up. Final parts are ordered to so hopefully it'll be up and running in a week.
