I have a 82 xs 400. I don’t use the push start only kick. What I do is wide open choke two kicks while bike is off. Turn the bike on, and it will usually start in 1-3 kicks. Problem solved. It turned out to just be my kill switch module not working anymore. Don’t know where to find another so I just joined the two wires. Runs like a dream

not sure, I should because the red and white wire has power at the kill switch and going through the kill switch and if i'm correct it shouldn't if there was no power going through the wires at the fuse box or lack there of

I don’t think I have a fuse box to be honest I looked where there should be one and no fuse box just some wires that are butt spliced and they match the wires that would be attached to the fuses. Sorry about posting multiple threads. Just have a lot of questions

Hi, I have an 82 xs400 and I have no spark on either side and no power to either coil. I understand it could be the tci or the pickup coil. I don’t know how to test any of these and if there’s anything else I need to check/test and how to test them

I’ve looked everywhere on this bike and can’t find a single fuse

Do you know where that fuse is on the bike?

Also when I turn on the bike should I be getting constant voltage to the coils (I’m not). Sorry for all the questions. I’m new to wiring

I have a 1982 xs400 with no spark I’m suspecting the coils or possibly the condenser but I cannot find the condenser for the life of me and there’s only one other post for this on here for an xs360 that says it’s in between the coils but it’s not there
