After cleaning my carbs and putting them back together, I found a small black o-ring (less than 1/4") sitting on my work desk. I found only one and after taking it all apart again to find its brother, I could only still find the one. I think it might have to do the pilot (idle) mixture screw...

Blueish pipes would tell me shes is running lean, as lean engines run hotter. Changes in exhaust piper colour is from excessive heat. I agree with drewpy. The ceramic around the electrode is white, if it was running rich it would be black too like the outside edge of the spark plug.
