Will the shift shaft fit on an 82? I live in 44035. (just the part that the shift lever attatches to.) I have tried to get one off of Ebay, but ended up with one that does not fit.

FlyingAnvil, Thank you for the response. The piston moves with finger pressure (retracts at least) so i don't think it is lodged. I have ordered another MC, should arrive in a few days. At this point I am leaning towards an old MC that isn't able to build pressure.

I guess now I have to teach myself how to rebuild the caliper. :) A little bit of a pain since this is my primary transportation at the moment. If the caliper is not working right, would that cause the master cylinder to not draw from the reservoir? Even when a siphon is hooked to the bleeder...

I am new to this forum (and new to the XS400) My bike is also having problems with the front brake. My line started leaking, so I purchased a used one from Ebay. It was clogged and when I attempted to squeeze a little harder to try and clear it…(stupid I know) my MC started leaking...
