    Hi and thanks for the reply. The right side is fine but the left has finally gone, wasn't the best when I got the the bike. Thanks for the size info and link. I'm pretty sure the head will have to come off if only to stop crap going in the cylinder.:eek:

    Hello folks, Has anybody fitted a helicoil in the plug threads on the barrels of their xs400 se? If so what size helicoil, M14? I'm guessing I'll have to pull the engine to remove the head? Any advice greatly appreciated!:thumbsup:

    I had a similar problem, connected the coils according to my manual. Manual was wrong, connected the coils up the other way and the bike started.
