    i had heard that too about rolls and burying engines... it had to do with the metal stabalizing or something back in the day when engines were made out of cast iron.

    k, just wanted to make sure you did it right and it sounds like you did. hell, ive used a hose clamp to compress the rings many times... use lots of oil, let it sit compressed for a short while and they almost wanna jump into those holes by themselves.

    I use to race a short dirt track stock car when I worked for a GM dealer... I can't remember where I read it but it was recommended to me to paint the engine flat black to help keep it cool...

    Why would you need to change the speedo? changing gear ratios doesn't effect it as it's driven off the front wheel

    I've made lots of armour back in the day outta 16 ga mild steel... i've never had to heat it to form it and i have done lots of compound curves... just take your time and you'd be surprised what a hammer and a heavy bag full of sand can do

    I'm actually looking for a set of low risers... how tall at the risers on the seca? I have a set of low rise bars already... really didn't like the looks of the maxim... that's just me.

    well, brought my xs maxim into my garage... read that my kitchen... so my son and I could start pulling it apart... not real big on how the stock bike looks as it was kinda beat up when i got it. I figure i'll do a tracker looking build. so atleast its started... the ripping and tearing...
