This is a great post! I' m working on wiring my led turn signals at the moment. I got a led conversion flasher relay that has 2 wires. I think it's hooked up correctly, but the signals only work intermittently. The signals will suddenly stop working when I'm testing them by turning on and off...

Also I'd need to know if you are running a rear disk brake or rear drum.

I might be able to do that. you would need to get a set of rearsets first so I would know what diameter the hole needs to be to mount them to the bracket.

Yes I made them myself out of a nice piece of aluminum we had at the shop. And they do mount right up to an unmodified frame. I made a set out of wood first to get everything lined up right.

Thanks! The bike was running when I got it so hopefully most of the engine is good. I did take the valve cover off and check out everything. I also set all of the valve clearances. Then I cleaned everything up and painted.

I think i started with 180 grit and went up to 800 grit sand paper on the polishing. I wanted a little bit of the matte finish look instead of the mirror finish. did it all by hand. it took a lot of time but i have more time than money!

It wasn't a conversion kit. The swingarm, wheel, disk and caliper are from a 1978 XS400E. I simply mounted it all on to my frame and added some longer shocks.

There is a screw that comes with the brake pad kit that screws into the back side of the caliper. it seems to push on the inside brake pad when you screw it in. (Labeled #5 in the link)...
