To put the Xs wheels on the GSXR forks i'm using the GSXR axle and ordered bearings with the same OD as the XS Wheels and the ID of the GSXR bearings. Im going to be real honest, havent done much work on this bike for a while. Crazy how senior year of high school goes by and before you know it...

Just a bearing swap and some fab work for a fork stop. If you go to AllBallsRacing.com they have a fork conversion tab. It lets you see all of the forks possible and the bearings needed to do so. If you use their website, say your bike is a 1988 fzr400, they dont have any xs400 stuff on there...

Got a little ahead of myself and had to throw some paint down on the tank. IM thinking orange with everything else is black is going to look pretty killer :rock:

well today wasnt all that productive, sanded down my tank, one more coat of primer and its ready for paint. Think i found the fix for my fork stops too. Had to fix the truck so i can go pick up another hot rod/rat rod project :D

Hahaha when I get to that point ill let you know, shipping wouldn't kill you or anything ;)

If I do it I might as well go mono shock and just Fab something. I have a family friend that is a fabricator/ CNN machinist and my dad is pretty handy too, so I'm sure we could figure something out!

would i go monoshock then or keep the dual shocks? hmm.. now you got me really thinking!

i was originaly going to sell the gixxer whell, but i think i might keep it and save up money/collect parts to put a swingarm, disc btrake and gixxer wheel on. just wanna get this done so i can ride and make sure i like it before i do more work, ya know?

i sure hope so! this is the wheel im using, bought it from a member. Just need to clean it up a bit and shoot it black. Going with a blacked out look with some flat black and some glossy black. Check out build thread "Cafe high build intro" not much there yet but there will be soon! :thumbsup:

Update for today forks are fitted, bearings will be in tomorrow. carbs were cleaned and put back in bike. wiring gone through and wrapped back up, have spark now! leaking some gas from the bowls, gaskets? Tried to get her started but just wasnt havin it. back firing pretty bad too. Timing...

Pretty simple really, just have to change steering bearings to fit the new stem, nd make sure the steering stems are close in height. Some fab work is to be done, like last night i discovered the problem of the fork stops. As far as the back im going to leave it stock.. for now. I have a wire...

here ya guys go! still in the fitting stage but i think it looks pretty mean. Going to pick up my bearings tomorrow and run the controls. :rock:

My dad came over and we went through it all and got it fixed. Need to get some more gas and it should be running soon!
