hi i have posted a couple threads on this bike in the garage it is now for sale on ebay if anyone is interested it had sat since 1985 i put 2 rebuilt carbs on it brand new battery,new spark plugs,changed oil it runs great petcock needs rebuilt and it needs the 2 front turn signal lenses...

thanks man spent a lot of time polishing i still have some more to do i obsess sometimes i wont be happy until its as clean as i can get it lol i love finding stuff that doesnt run or work and fixing it up

mine isnt as low mileage as yours it has 7900 on it in 83 when the guy i got it from bought it the title shows 5800 miles looks like he put about 2000 on it in 2 years before he laid it down and parked it

just took the bike around the block for the first time:bike: running great shifts thru the gears fine everything works. not a bead deal for a straight up trade for an 85 honda three wheeler i think for once i might have come out ahead on a deal:)

on the dirt bikes and stuff ive had they just had on,off,res the needle would be pushed up into the seat by the float as fuel filled the bowl then shut flow off

i think i understand, with it in the on or reserve position there needs to be vacuum from the engine to pull diaghpram to allow fuel flow and then prime is straight thru no vacuum needed. sounds complicated really why not just on,off,reserve lol

as far as i know its all stock but someone else may know better

well funny story as to why i cant use the original carbs. i took them apart and they were full of black syrup. floats would not move slides stuck. worst i have ever seen. i soaked them overnight in what i had which was some naptha paint thinner the next day floats started to move a bit used some...

just wondering what you guys thought about using chainsaw bar and chain oil on motorcycle chain seems like it will work good and since i have a gallon of it i put it on my chain. its thick and sticky i have never actually used any actuall chain oil before usually just some motor oil on the kids...
