... Is it really worth all the trouble?...
Definitely not. Probably fine if you have a brand new vehicle designed to run on 85, with all the proper materials. For the price of one movie ticket (no popcorn, no snacks) one can ride an old 400 all day. If you can't afford that much entertainment it's time to sell the bike, sell the car and buy monthly transit passes.

An old colleague of mine bought a Chevy Volt this spring. He's very techie and lives close enough to work to do all his commuting on household current. There is an interesting feature on the Volt. The engine which also comes in it, runs fine on ehtanol fuels, but the computer calculates how long the fuel has sat in the gas tank, and, after a certain length of time, it automatically runs itself on gasoline and won't let you go electric until the tank is run down and you fill up with fresh gas.
Further proof that it is dangerous to leave ethanol fuel sitting in your bike's gas tank for more than a week or 2.

That wouldnt be a problem either, now I dont know if the stuff is any good or not but ethanolconditioner is soldat most autmotive stores.Im also pretty sure they make stabil for ethanolfuels.:)

One more added step in an already failed process?. Like Dave said, not worth the trouble. It would be less trouble to buy an old 2-stroke and mix 40:1 manually than all the stuff you'd need to do for ethanol 85. To hell with the corn farmer lobby :wink2:
